I have a vivid memory as a child: you were way ahead of your time, anticipating the iPod, walking around your home muttering to yourself about the Giants game you were listening to on a tiny transistor radio that only you could hear through a single earphone.

I am privileged to be included in the circle of your loving family to greet you on your 100th birthday.  What an amazing accomplishment – to have experienced so much change over the course of your life and remain invested in all that is happening around you and the world.  You have made a brilliant adjustment following the death of your beloved Bernice that may inspire many of us. Your attention to the concerns of the day and your caring of the above are exemplary. I am happy to be in your life and will delight in being with you again once it is safe to do so.
